My future daughter-in-law (Ginger) has been on her own since she was 16. She is now 25 years old. Her mother passed away when she was 15. She has had to grow up way faster than kids should! She has siblings but they all have had to fend for themselves the same way she has. All of them have their own families now. Her father is disabled and has what he can do to take care of himself.
My son Walker, met her soon after she gave birth to her beautiful son Carter. He fell in love with the both of them. After a few months of them dating, Walker moved in with them. They were living in a low-cost rental apartment. It was not a good part of our city. I worried about them all the time. I had heard through others what kind of work she was doing. She was a stripper. My husband and I could not believe it! Here we are both teachers and our son has fallen in love with a stripper and her son. How could that be? She decided to do that line of work because it was at night and she only had to work a couple of nights. It meant less time away from her baby! I had to stop and think about why she did what she was doing. She did NOT want to live off the state. She wanted to provide for herself and her son!
Fast forward to 2018…Walker, Ginger and Carter have added to their family. They now have a daughter named Ariana (our granddaughter 18 months old), 2 dogs, 2 cats, a bunny and some fish. Since our house is over 5000 square feet we invited them to move in with us to help them. They have their own space in the house along with their own washer and dryer down their end of the house. We do share the kitchen. Walker and Ginger loved being responsible for cooking dinners for the family. It was wonderful to come home from work to dinner all ready. My husband and I started eating a Ketogenic diet (low carbohydrate, moderate protein and high fat) so now we make our own meals.
Today I got a call from a seamstress saying she would be able to make Ginger’s wedding dress for a June 2018 wedding. I was so excited to get the call! We have gone dress shopping several times and she could NOT find the dress! I found a dress online after hours of searching that she had described as her perfect dress! The website I found was out of Hong Kong with no Reviews! I knew that was NOT good. I had to find someone who could make her dream dress! I was NOT going to stop until I did! I am looking forward to meeting with the seamstress with Ginger! It is a great mother/daughter trip!
